The construction supervisor, Craig was harder on the final inspection than we were and found way more minor corrections which he ensured were rectified. The build was easy and problem free as Michelle in the Townsville office kept us informed and she was very happy to guide us through the build plus ensured all issues were resolved.

I stayed at the Civic Guesthouse for 1 night and I would stay there again. I was impressed with the hardworking Joe who wore many hats that day from being the driver of their free shuttle bus to answering emails/phone calls, to being the receptionist checking us in and giving us a personal tour, to housekeeping. It seemed he was the only one working that day, but he was an excellent one-man band and responded to our every need promptly. The hostel itself was great and laid out spaciously for different types of people, whether you like to mingle with people or read quietly alone. The rooms were clean. The only suggestion I would say for management is a bathroom upgrade 😊

I arrived on Magnetic Island a week ago. As a solo traveler, I was quite stressed after a long journey but this was quickly eased by the kindness and support that I received from Ian (the owner). His kindness and generosity really meant a lot. I also had the best sleep in my very comfortable room surrounded by nature beside the sea. It is a beautiful guest house that I couldn’t recommend more!

The fire tower is a very short walk from the car park and is very easy to do with children. The tower provides amazing views from the top! We also did the crater walk which was lovely. Again, this walk is easy and quite fine for children.
